The swimming pool has been constructed at a cost of Rs 50 lakhs at the District Sports Stadium. The Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu has sanctioned Rs 25 lakhs and Rs 25 lakhs has been dovetailed from MPLADS funds of the MP, Chidmabaram LS Constituency.

Administrative sanction has been accorded for the construction of a synthetic tennis court at the District Sports Stadium at a cost of Rs 19.5 lakhs. The contribution of India Cements Limited (Rs 10.5 lakhs) is acknowledged.

Hockey Ground has been constructed in the District Stadium recently.

Gymnastic centre has been constructed in the District Stadium recently .
